Phraseography is a field of applied phraseology which takes into account the preparation of compilations, glossaries and dictionaries of PUs as its object of study. It deals with the evolution of these works over time, as well as with the development of this kind of work in the present and how it will affect future understanding.

Monolingual

The main monolingual works of Phaseography are compilations, glossaries and dictionaries that collect PUs of the same language, in their heterogeneity or by types, and provide definitions and contextualized examples.
 

Bi/Multilingual

Bi/multilingual phraseographic works are mainly dictionaries, whose function is to provide correspondences and concordances between PUs of two or more languages. The phraseographic information they provide can vary according to the format and the conceptual criteria of the elaboration of this investigative work.
